Land Use, Zoning and Real Estate Development

Development of scarce land is an important issue in the South Shore today and clients and local governments alike appreciate and require quality and responsible representation of development matters.  Our attorneys serve in the forefront of land use and zoning issues.  From advising residential owners on subdividing their property into two lots, to commercial developers planning condominium and single family home projects, we assist our clients in navigating the complex world of local zoning ordinances.  We have represented clients in front of every imaginable local governmental agency, including planning boards, conservation commissions, boards of health and zoning boards of appeals, city councils, boards of selectmen and town meetings.  We have also successfully represented parties appealing adverse decisions by governmental agencies.

Because of the scarcity of developable property and our reputation as responsible development advisors, we are also requested to lend our expertise as local governments seek to streamline their land use, zoning and development regulations and are frequently called upon to lend our comments to proposed changes.
