Matthew E. Mitchell joined the firm in 2021, and has been practicing law for over thirty years. His primary areas of expertise are civil litigation, environmental and land use matters, and insurance and employment law. Matt has litigated cases in state and federal courts in New York and Massachusetts on behalf of individuals, closely-held companies, insurers, and self-insured public utilities in large scale property damage claims. He also has experience representing individuals and developers in conservation and zoning appeals to the Massachusetts Superior Court, Land Court, Court of Appeals, and Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, as well as defending and pursuing claims before the EEOC and New York State Division of Human Rights.
Prior to joining Ohrenberger, De Lisi & Harris, LLP, Mr. Mitchell was Senior Counsel at Tully Rinckey, LLP in Buffalo, New York.
Matt is admitted to all Massachusetts and New York State trial and appellate courts, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the First Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. Matt received his BA from the University of New Hampshire, and Juris Doctor and MSL in Environmental Law and Policy, magna cum laude, from Vermont Law School.
